Harry Potter's sixth year at Hogwarts turns out to be quite the exciting year. First off is the arrival of a new teacher at Hogwarts, Horace Slughorn, who is a bit more useful to Harry than he realizes. Next, Harry obtains a Potions book which used to be belong to the very mysterious Half-Blood Prince. Harry finds that the Half-Blood Prince's ancient scribbles are written along the margins of almost every page, giving Harry advice on how to improve greatly on his Potions work, and also teaching him a few helpful (and dangerous) spells along the way.

Amidst this, Harry is starting private lessons with Professor Dumbledore, during which Harry learns the dark secrets of Voldemort's past, hoping that they could use these secrets to find a way to defeat him.

Harry's year gets even more stressful with the suspicious actions of Draco Malfoy, who has been sneaking around the school doing, so Harry assumes, Voldemort's bidding. Harry quickly becomes determined, and slightly obsessed, to find out exactly what Malfoy has been up to and putting and end to it.

Yet, during this time, Harry and his friends go through daily life, busy with school work, Quidditch, (in which Harry has been made captain of the team) and of course, romance. Ron has found a new girlfriend, Lavender Brown, a perky (if not obnoxious) Gryffindor student, and Hermione is not happy about it. Ron and Hermione's friendship takes a toll throughout the school year and Harry, as usual, is stuck in the middle. Harry, meanwhile, is facing a romantic dilemma of his own: he realizes he is falling for his best friend's sister, Ginny Weasley, who is unfortunately dating Harry's classmate, Dean Thomas. Harry's pining for Ginny and Ron's hilarious relationship with Lavender give this story a large dose of reality.

Throughout all the school drama, however, the obvious darkness of Voldemort's impending rise to power is always apparent. The incredible action-packed climax is sure to leave the audience stunned and, inevitably, prove that you shouldn't trust everybody who you think is good and also prove that not everyone can manage to survive.

Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort’s defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information. Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn’t counted on Romilda Vane’s chocolates! And then there’s Hermione, simmering with jealously but determined not to show her feelings. As romance blossoms, one student remains aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again.

New Moon is a young adult fantasy-romance novel by author Stephenie Meyer, and is the second book in the Twilight saga. According to Meyer, this book is about losing true love.[1] The title refers to the darkest phase of the lunar cycle, indicating that New Moon is about the darkest time of the protagonist Bella's life.[2] It was originally published in hardcover in 2006. Isabella "Bella" Swan turns 18. Alice and Edward Cullen, the vampire she loves, throw her a birthday party. While unwrapping a gift, she gets a paper cut. Edward's brother, Jasper, is overwhelmed by her blood's scent and tries to kill Bella. To protect her from vampires, Edward ends his relationship with Bella, and he and his family leave Forks, Washington. Bella becomes severely depressed for months and seeks comfort with Jacob Black, a cheerful friend who eases her pain over losing Edward.

Bella and Jacob develop a close friendship, and she soon realizes that thrill-seeking activities, such as motorcycle riding, allow her to "hear" Edward's voice in her head. Meanwhile, Bella learns that Jacob is a werewolf. He and his fellow werewolves protect Bella from the vampires Laurent and Victoria, the latter of whom seeks revenge for her dead mate, James, whom the Cullens killed in Twilight.

Meanwhile, a series of miscommunications leads Edward to believe that Bella has killed herself. Distraught over her supposed suicide, Edward flees to Italy to provoke the Volturi, vampire royalty who would be able to kill him. Edward's sister, Alice, and Bella rush to Italy to save Edward, arriving just in time to stop him. Before leaving Italy, the Volturi tell them that Bella, a human who knows that vampires exist, must either be killed or transformed into a vampire. When they return to Forks, Edward tells Bella that he has always loved her and only left to protect her. She forgives him, and the book ends with the Cullens voting in favor of Bella being transformed into a vampire after her graduation, much to Edward's dismay.

Twilight, New Moon และ Eclipse เดินเรื่องผ่านเบลล่าเป็นส่วนใหญ่ ดังนั้นเวลาที่เบลล่าไม่ได้สติ เราจะไม่รู้ว่าเกิดอะไรขึ้น ซึ่งตรงนี้ทำให้ไม่รู้สิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นจริงและตัวละครตัวอื่นหมดสิทธิ์อธิบาย นอกจากนั้น คนเขียนยังสามารถเล่าเรื่องเดิมผ่านมุมมองของตัวละครอื่นออกมาเป็นเล่ม 5 ได้อีก

ปมส่วนไหนที่คนเขียนไม่อยากแก้ปมหรือจะทำให้ความยาวเรื่องเพิ่ม ก็จะหายไป เพราะเบลล่าไม่อยากติดต่อด้วย ง่ายๆ อย่างนั้นเอง

Just Say 'I Don't' to 'Bride Wars'

The clichéd comedy "Bride Wars" tosses out stereotypes about female materialism and cattiness with all the giddy gusto of a newly married woman flinging the bouquet at her single girlfriends.

It's amazing that two of the film's three writers are women: Casey Wilson of "Saturday Night Live" and June Diane Raphael (the third, Greg DePaul, also gets a story-by credit).

But what's just as baffling is the way in which director Gary Winick, who brought the radiant best out of Jennifer Garner in the 2004 charmer "13 Going on 30," manages to squander the appealing screen presence of Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway. (Then again, the shrill material does him no favors.)

Hudson and Hathaway star as Liv and Emma, lifelong best friends who've obsessively fantasized about the ideal wedding since they were children in small-town New Jersey. Because that's what all girls do, right? Lavish nuptials represent the zenith to which we all aspire.

Anyway, when Liv and Emma both get engaged within days of each other, they accidentally book their weddings at New York's Plaza Hotel on the same date. The conflict is the result of a snafu at the office of wedding planner extraordinaire Marion St. Claire (a tart Candice Bergen), whom Liv and Emma gush over during their first appointment as if they were 12-year-olds at a Jonas Brothers concert.

Despite promising to be each other's maid of honor, neither will budge, which leads to an increasingly destructive game of sabotage and one-upmanship. The speed and ease with which they turn on each other is dizzying, and more painful to sit through than Hathaway's rehearsal-dinner toast in "Rachel Getting Married."

Emma, a normally passive schoolteacher, secretly sends Liv, a high-powered lawyer, chocolates and cookies so that she'll be too tubby to squeeze into her Vera Wang gown with its 10 tiers of tulle. (The smorgasbord of sweets leads to the movie's only true laugh-out-loud line. And it's such a relief when it comes.)

Liv, meanwhile, undermines one of Emma's spray-tan sessions and floats the rumor to their mutual girlfriends that — oops! — Emma may be pregnant. And on it goes.

It's unabashedly mean, yes — think of it as "The War of the Roses," and the peonies, and the hydrangeas — but it's also never all that funny. And since this incredibly shallow dilemma is the biggest problem facing these women, it's impossible to root for them to be happy or care whether their friendship survives.

Neither could have picked another date or found another venue? In all of New York? Really? But alas, then there would have been no movie.

The climactic battle reveals the absolute worst in both, as they rip each other apart in a screechy frenzy of hair and veils and silk. But then "Bride Wars" wants to have it both ways; besides parodying the wedding industry while simultaneously embracing it, the film wants to wallow in the muck and tug at our hearts. It features one of those awkward moments of confession, apology and reconciliation that always seem to take place in a room full of hundreds of people. Nobody ever steps out to a hallway for these talks.

It's enough to make you wish Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn would crash the party and liven things up.

Alex and Kate are maintaining a correspondence, talking about the house matters, sending each other letters, which are put in the lake house's letter box. But a strange thing is happening, because both of them find out that the letter box is working as a kind of time communication channel, between the year 2004, where Alex's living, and 2006, the year that Kate's actually living. After sending each other many letters talking about their lives, and Kate talking to Alex about how life will be in two years, it seems like they're falling in love each other. But maybe they will never meet each other, because of the time distance. Nevertheless, Kate comes up with a memory from 2004, when she forgot a book in a train station, Jane Austen's "Persuasion", and she'll ask Alex to go to that place in that precise moment, when she lost the book. Maybe the future of Kate is about to change, when Alex decides to meet Kate's other self in the past, despite the fact that she has a boyfriend. 10 Things I Hate About You is a 1999 American romantic comedy film. It is directed by Gil Junger and stars Julia Stiles, Heath Ledger, Larisa Oleynik, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Larry Miller. A loose adaptation of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew set in a modern American high school, the screenplay was written by Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith. The movie's title is a twist on The Taming of the Shrew (see below) but is also a reference to a poem written by the film's female lead to describe her bittersweet romance with the male lead. The film was released March 31, 1999 and was a breakout success for stars Stiles and Ledger.

The movie centers on a new student, Cameron James (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). Cameron develops a crush on Bianca Stratford (Larisa Oleynik), but he is informed by his new friend Michael Eckman (David Krumholtz) that Bianca can't date until her older sister Kat (Julia Stiles) finds a boyfriend, a rule instituted by their overprotective father, Walter (Larry Miller). He and Michael set up an elaborate plan to find Kat a boyfriend in which they persuade a popular, rich student, who also has a crush on Bianca, Joey (Andrew Keegan), to pay an intimidating guy with a bad reputation to go out with Kat, leading Joey to believe that he will have Bianca when she is free to date.

Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger) seems like a good match for equally ill-tempered Kat. However, Kat resists his advances. Eventually she allows him to escort her to a party, so that Bianca too can go to the party. At the party, Cameron finds out that Bianca wanted to date Joey the entire time, while Kat gets drunk and must be cared for by Patrick. Bianca spends time with Joey at the party and realizes he is extremely vain and self-centered. Bianca catches up with Cameron before he leaves the party, and he ends up giving her a ride home. On the ride, Cameron yells at her for being selfish and toying with his emotions so she can date Joey, but she interrupts him with a kiss. Kat however, becomes angry with Patrick when he doesn't kiss her while she's drunk.

At this point, Patrick has fallen for Kat and tries to win her back, going so far as to pay the school band to accompany him while singing "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" in the football stadium. Joey pays for Patrick to take Kat to prom, though at first he is reluctant to take the money. Kat refuses to go to prom, thinking that Patrick has an ulterior motive. Bianca is upset that she can't go to prom. Kat reveals that after their mother left, she slept with Joey in a moment of distress, and was trying to protect her younger sister from making a similar mistake. She and Patrick go to the prom together, and Bianca goes with Cameron.

At the prom, Joey finds Patrick and expresses his anger that while he kept up his end of the bargain and paid Patrick to go out with Kat, Bianca ended up with Cameron instead. Kat hears this, and despite Patrick's attempts to explain, walks out on him. Joey confronts Cameron and punches him, only to be given a black eye by Bianca. The following school day, Kat reads her English assignment, an interpretation of Sonnet 141, aloud to the class, which includes Patrick. To apologize, Patrick buys Kat a guitar which she had been longing for, and they end up together.

Synopsis

Nicole Kidman told a courtroom Monday how she was reduced to tears and feared a car accident after a celebrity photographer pursued her two years ago.

Kidman, who divides her time between Los Angeles and her hometown of Sydney, was testifying in the photographer's defamation suit against a Sydney newspaper that slammed him for allegedly hounding the Oscar-winning actress.

The film star, who wore a gray knee-length skirt, cream-colored blouse and pale pink cardigan and had her long, curly hair drawn up in a loose bun, appeared calm and composed during the session in the New South Wales state Supreme Court.

Her poise contrasted sharply with her description of the ride from her house in Sydney to her parents' home in another part of the city for dinner on Jan. 23, 2005.

Kidman described hunkering down in the car's back seat — leaning over in her chair in the witness stand to demonstrate — to try to avoid being spotted by photographer Jamie Fawcett.

She said the trip quickly turned into a hair-raising chase as a vehicle carrying Fawcett and another vehicle, believed to contain his assistant, lurched through traffic around Kidman's car.

"I was frightened and I was worried there was going to be an accident," Kidman said.

Kidman said she was "really, really scared" during the car ride and that she was "in tears and distressed" by the time she reached her parents' house.

Fawcett, a well-known celebrity photographer in Sydney, is suing The Sun-Herald newspaper for defamation over an article that said he was Sydney's most disliked freelance photographer and was determined to "wreak havoc" on Kidman's private life.

A jury has already found that the article defamed Fawcett.

The current hearing is to decide whether the newspaper's publisher, Fairfax Media, should pay the photographer damages, and how much.

Kidman described two other times that Fawcett had allegedly been intrusive when trying to photograph her — once while she was on her honeymoon with country music star Keith Urban in Tahiti in mid-2006, and once after Christmas in Sydney last year. She said he was one of the reasons she employed full-time security guards.

"I have been pursued many times," Kidman said. "I have had this happen in relation to this particular man ... so many times.

"I employ people to protect me now. I employ people 24 hours to protect myself because I don't feel equipped to handle things," she said.
